RSS to Promote Lifting Training and Compliance at LiftEx

Rope and Sling Specialists Ltd. (RSS) will bring another multifaceted exhibit to LiftEx, which centres on the rebranded RSS Training Academy. Representation from the live365 team; a nine-dart challenge; and fully stocked refreshment bar will be other Stand 63 highlights at Exhibition Centre Liverpool, 18-19 November.

RSS offers a comprehensive portfolio of lifting and rigging products and training. It supplies blocks, shackles, hooks, slings, harnesses, and other rigging gear — all covered by periodic Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) inspections — to some of the UK’s most notable large-scale infrastructure projects and blue chip firms.

RSS is giving top billing to the rebranded Training Academy — look out for the new logo — as it more closely aligns course content and delivery with the findings of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association’s (LEEA) State of the Lifting Industry Report. RSS is a member of LEEA’s Accredited Training Scheme (ATS), which offers end user training delivered by member companies, giving assurance of good-quality training, instructors, and facilities.

Attendees will also discover the latest on the live365 digitalisation and compliance project, which combines inspection services with comprehensive data analysis software to analyse safety trends. live365 revolves around the importance of maintaining essential safety documentation (current and historical) along with any-time access.

LiftEx attendees can watch a special live365 video, featuring Leanne Whitehurst-Maiden, national digitalisation manager, who recently completed a nationwide training programme covering the system. The LiftEx movie will explore how digitalisation is the key to a safer lifting industry for all and promote the installation of radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips in lifting and rigging gear, so all equipment can be provided with digital passports.

Whitehurst-Maiden said: “We will use LiftEx to remind suppliers of the benefits of embedding RFID chips in lifting and rigging gear. Digital passports are data management tools that record product lifecycle information — such as material composition, energy performance, maintenance guidelines, and recycling methods.”

Steve Hutin, managing director at RSS, said: “With our core products, the Training Academy, and live365, we have a mouthwatering trifecta for attendees — that’s without the Top Gear-style darts leaderboard and the best-in-show hospitality we have become known for. Whether it be lifting, rigging, training, or compliance — we’ve got it all.”

RSS has also been shortlisted for LEEA Awards in the Excellence in Leadership and Trainer of the Year — The Craig Morelli Award categories.
