For years, asset management has meant knowing what equipment exists, where it is, and when it is due for service. That information sits in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, maintenance logs and inspection folders across every site. However, for management teams overseeing heavy and critical industries, having the data somewhere is not the same as having the right information at hand when a decision needs to be made.

Traditional systems were built to record history, not to support real-time decisions. As a result, leadership can be left piecing together information from different systems, sites and records, rather than seeing a single, current picture of asset condition, maintenance status and emerging risk.

RiConnect is addressing that challenge in three ways:

When an inspection is overdue, maintenance is incomplete or a certificate expires, there is no ambiguity about who owns the issue.”

Data-storage and residency requirements vary between countries and jurisdictions. RiConnect can support local hosting on a per-country basis and works with each customer’s IT and compliance teams to understand the rules that apply to their operations. Customers confirm their specific regulatory requirements, including jurisdiction-specific requirements such as those that may apply in Saudi Arabia, for example.

RiConnect explains how the three fit together with a simple building-themed analogy:

Whitehurst-Maiden added: “Importantly, Private Cloud does not simply mean that the customer's data is kept separate. Tenants are logically isolated from one another within a shared cloud environment too; Private Cloud goes further, with infrastructure dedicated to a single customer. Tenants and data location are also separate questions: the number of Tenants and the number of data storage locations do not have to match. A group with four subsidiaries may have four Tenants, while regulatory requirements could mean that the data associated with those Tenants must be stored in four different countries, with Data Residency set up on a per-country basis.”

Ultimately, by making ownership, data location and system isolation clear, RiConnect gives organisations a more transparent foundation for managing asset integrity, compliance and accountability at scale.

  1. Tenant: The Enterprise holds the master subscription and allocates capacity across its Tenants, while each Tenant manages its own assets. A Tenant can be a site, business unit, project, or contractor scope. Tenants are logically isolated from one another and cannot query, monitor, or edit each other's information.
  2. Data Residency: Customer data is hosted in a specific country to support local regulations, and it is available on a per-country basis.
  3. Private Cloud: A dedicated, isolated environment for regulated industries, offered as an optional add-on.
